FIREARM TRAINING - HOW DOES IT WORK?

Welcome to BURNING BARRELS where we host advanced firearm training and have the latest training material and qualifications necessary to successfully assist you in achieving the necessary qualifications required by the Firearm Control Act 60/2000, to lawfully possess a firearm.
I would like to thank you for your interest in my training center and below I will provide you with information on how the system works.
(Please note that in some cases there are ‘exceptions to the rules’ and upon request I will find out about your query).
So, you want to possess a firearm and need to know where to start….

First of all, under normal circumstances, you must be over the age of 21 and be a South African Citizen.

You must be of sound mind and a fit and proper person to possess a firearm.

You must not have been convicted of any offenses.

You must have completed the LEGAL TEST relating to the Firearms Act 60/2000.

You must have completed the THEORETICAL and PRACTICAL EXAMS relating to the firearms required. (Handgun and/or Manually Operated Rifle and/or Shotgun and/or Self-loading Rifle)

On completion of these tests, I will award you with a PROFICIENCY CERTIFICATE and a PFTC SoR.

You may now submit your COMPETENCY APPLICATION with your Proficiency Certificate and SoR to SAPS.

SAPS will process your application and if successful will give you a COMPETENCY PRINT-OUT.

Next, fill in an APPLICATION TO POSSESS A FIREARM and submit it to SAPS for approval.
